Red Spots On Aquarium Fish. By ScooperRN98 6 years ago on Tropical Fish Diseases. Red spots on fish caused by skin irritation.
One of my fish all of a sudden got this bright red patch on his side. Red spot disease will be caused by a bacterial infection and the best way to cure this is to add aquarium salt Available on Amazon and Methylene Blue Available on Amazon to the aquariums water. There is a variation called the Clown Killifhs as well which has a blueish-green body with vertical white stripes and a vibrant tail with red horizontal stripes thats our favorite.
Another choice would be Triple Sulfa or SulfaPlex.
Do you see any signs on the other cories. The appearance of these spots is often compared to salt grains. I saw a red algae inside my aquarium 2 months ago. It doesnt act different or sick however some of the other fish will pick at its side.
